A Room of One’s Own…To Code

The Oakland Public Library’s Dimond Branch now has Girls Who Code, a free weekly program for girls in 6th to 12th grade. Instructor Ian McKellar, a Google Senior Software Engineer, teaches skills to create websites and apps as well as develop leadership and marketing skills. The Girls Who Code Club meets Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. at the Dimond Branch, 3565 Fruitvale Ave.
